What is a hitch for?
A hitch serves many functions. You can tow your trailer, jet ski or boat. You can also securely carry up to 4 bike racks and wheelchair. We also carry multiple cargo racks that allow you to have extra space on your vehicle.
I have a small sedan, can I tow a jet ski?
Any small vehicle can tow up to 2,000 lbs with a custom hitch. That is enough to tow a jet ski with the trailer.
What do I need to tow a trailer?
To properly and legally tow a trailer you'll need a hitch, that can tow the required amount as well as the wiring converter to send signal to the lights of the trailer. You will also need a draw bar and ball to connect the trailer to your hitch and a pin to secure it in place. We refer this as the tow package.
What hitch class does my vehicle need?
Every vehicle is different so therefore can tow different amounts. The smallest of sedans can tow up to 2,000 lbs which is a class 1 hitch. The larger the vehicle the more it can tow. Small sport utility vehicle can tow up to 3,500 lbs, this is a class 2 hitch. You're standard pick up truck, van and SUV can tow up to 5,000 lbs, known as a class 3 hitch. Super duty vehicles can tow between 12,000 to 18,000 lbs which are class 4 and class 5 hitches.
How many bikes can I hold with a hitch bike rack?
You can hold up to 4 bikes on one rack, but they're bike racks designed just for 2 bikes as well.
Do I need wiring on my vehicle?
If you plan on towing a trailer, jet ski or boat you will need wiring. If you're only using it for a bike rack, cargo rack or wheel chair carrier you do not need wiring.
What is a brake controller for?
A brake controller is used for larger trailers with an integrated brake system. The brake controller delegates the amount of pressure you want the trailer to receive when you press the brakes on your vehicle. This is customized to fit your preference.
Will my class 1 hitch support a hitch mounted bike rack and bikes?
A hitch bike rack , cargo rack or wheelchair carrier can be support by any class hitch.
Will drilling in my frame damage my vehicle stability?
Not at all. All hitches are attached to the frame to add stability to the hitch therefore allowing it to tow the appropriate amount. Drilling your vehicle's frame does not damage in anyway the stability or driving conditions.
