The B&W Companion Flatbed Gooseneck to 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter is designed to convert your B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch for flatbed trucks into a 5th wheel hitch. If you don't have the Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch yet, don't worry - we also sell it separately on our website as part number BWGNRK1500. The installation of this hitch adapter is quick and simple. The hitch base attaches to the RV post, which then installs into the ball hole of the B&W Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch. The hitch head can then be dropped onto the base and locked into place. What's great about this hitch is that it has a rail-free design, which allows for full access to your truck bed when the hitch is removed. Plus, it's easy to remove the hitch thanks to its modular design. One person can easily remove the hitch from the truck bed by removing the clips and pins, lifting up the saddle handles, and lifting the base out of the hitch. The hitch head itself features one-inch-thick dual jaws, which provide a 360-degree jaw-to-kingpin contact for less rattle and more security than slide bar jaws. The cam action latching handle is simple to release and helps prevent any binding, even on unlevel terrain. To open the handle, simply remove the pin and clip and rotate the cam latching handle to the back. This will cause the jaws to open up, allowing for easy hookup. As you back up your 5th wheel, the kingpin will slide into the jaws and push them closed. Both jaws will then lock around the kingpin, providing a secure 360-degree jaw-to-kingpin contact. You can then insert the pin and clip and even use a padlock for extra security. The hitch head is fully articulating, which means it pivots front to back and side to side, helping to limit chucking and providing a smooth, rattle-free ride. It rides on polyurethane bushings and has a durable gray powder coat steel finish that is corrosion resistant. Best of all, it's made in the USA! For a flatbed application, the minimum recessed box dimensions are 18 inches by 18 inches, while the maximum recess box depth is around four inches. The fixed height, which is measured from the truck bed to the top of the hitch head, is 10.5 inches. The gross towing weight on this hitch is an impressive 25,000 pounds, with a vertical load limit of 6,250 pounds. |
