The basic pintle hitch is essentially a hook and loop, with the hook attached to the vehicle and the loop mounted on the trailer. You may bolt these directly to the trailer tongue, or use a "ladder"-type mounting rail that's welded directly to the tongue. This will allow you to mount the Lunette eye at the appropriate height to mate properly with the tow vehicle.
